Dr. David Pires

Dr. Pires began his career in the health field at the age of 18 as a Certified Personal Trainer. His early success led him to a position as a trainer at the prestigious Michael Johnson’s Personal Training Studio where he worked with top athletes. His interest in the field prompted a position with a physical therapy group working with patients to regain function and strength after various injuries and surgeries.

After completing his undergrad work at UC Santa Cruz, he then attended medical school at Western University in Pomona, CA. He completed a transitional rotating internship at San Bernardino County Medical Center followed by an anesthesia residency at Riverside County Regional Medical Center.

Dr. Pires recognized the value of incorporating his background in functional restoration and fitness into his medical practice and after his anesthesia residency he chose to accept a fellowship position with the Prestigious Cedars Sinai Medical Center Department of Anesthesia, Department of Pain Medicine.

After completing his formal training, he was recruited by Kaiser and played a key role in bringing his department’s rating from 3rd to 1st place, making it one of the top ranked pain management centers in the Kaiser system.

He is currently on staff at Cottage Hospital and remains affiliated with Riverside County Medical Center and Cedars Sinai Medical Center, where he contributes and lectures to the residency and fellowship programs. Dr. Pires’ current pain medicine knowledge, as well as his utilization of the latest treatments and techniques, has proven to be a valuable asset to the patients in our community.
