Check-in and Admission

Check-in: When you arrive at Posada Surgery Center, please check-in at the registration desk to verify your personal, escort, and insurance information. Please have your ID and insurance card available.

 

Following Admission: After checking in, you will be brought to the pre-op area where the nurse will do a health interview and prepare you for surgery. You and your family or escort will stay in the room until it is time for your surgery. An anesthesiologist will discuss pain management with you and answer any questions. When your doctor is ready to see you, you will be escorted to the operating room. Your escort and/or family will stay in a waiting area and will rejoin you in the recovery area after your surgery.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I take my usual daily medication?

Any medication taken on the date of your surgery must be at the direction of your medical doctor and your surgeon. Some medications will be stopped for the surgery, particularly diabetes medication and blood thinners. If you use an inhaler, please bring it to Posada Surgery Center on the day of your procedure.

May I continue my herbal medications?

Some herbal medications can have harmful effects on your surgery, so please remember to mention any herbal remedies you take when speaking with your doctor and with the check-in staff.

Who may accompany me?

You are welcome to bring guests with you to Posada Surgery Center to accompany you through your procedure. Though your guest will not be able to be in the operating room, he or she can wait with you before surgery and may sit with you after the surgery.
